Primary responsibilities include washing dishes, cleaning kitchen and setting up for next class or event.
Junior Assistants will be trained in basic cooking techniques and procedures, basic administrative tasks and plating and serving skills. As skills are learned, assistant will have the opportunity to assume greater roles related to the execution of both demonstration and hands-on classes.
Requires evening availability (including Fridays and some Saturdays), Saturday (morning/afternoon) as well as daytime hours during summer and holiday breaks. (2-3 days per week, 8-12 total hours per week)
Perfect for high school or college students interested in the culinary arts. Prior experience/skill is not necessary, but the following qualifications are desirable:
• Interest in food and cooking
• Reliable, hardworking, energetic and enthusiastic
• Quick learner
• Works quickly and accurately
• Physical ability to work in commercial kitchen setting for several hours
