Chopping Basil

Say hello to your NEW BFF — YOUR KITCHEN!!

As we start the new year, many of you have made health-related resolutions, goals or promises.  Many of these include diet — mostly what NOT to eat or adapting a new diet plan that promises INSTANT results.  The bottom line is you are UNIQUE and you need to find a eating plan that is both doable and sustainable FOR YOU.

How do you do this?  By making regular small changes that build on one another over the long haul.  These changes will be different for each of you, but one that is on the top of the list for EVERYONE is to EAT REAL WHOLE FOODS.  In other words, DITCH THE PROCESSED!

Since the vast majority of pre-made, convenience and restaurant foods are processed to some degree, to eat real, whole food you need to PREPARE YOUR MEALS AT HOME FROM SCRATCH.

I can hear the excuses coming our of your mouth already:  “I don’t have time, I don’t know how to cook, Cooking for one is TOO hard, my family is TOO picky and on and on…….  BUT they are JUST EXCUSES!  YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!!  Yes, it will be hard, and you probably will have to move out of your current comfort zone, but growth and change ONLY happens when we stretch and challenge ourselves.

I recently completed an intensive culinary nutrition certification course and our first assignment was to write out our food philosophy (click here for the full story).  This, of course, guides my own eating habits, but it drives what I do and offer at Mrs. Dornberg’s. The compressed version is:

“Cooking automatically makes us healthier, and every meal that you prepare yourself from fresh, whole ingredients is a step towards a vibrant, energy filled life.”

I hope you will join (or continue along) with me this year and make those small changes needed to make cooking a regular part of your routine.  I will be providing the skills and techniques, healthy recipes, meal planning and prep guidance, inspiration, and MOST of all helping you to overcome those excuses!  It is time for #NoExcusesGetReal.  If cooking is the key to health, then a healthy lifestyle begins in the kitchen.

It is time for you to meet your new BFF — YOUR KITCHEN!!

We are kicking off the new year with our MOST POPULAR and USEFUL classes.  Check them out and register today!!  No Excuses!!

See you in the kitchen!
